Protokraft’s MATRIX Series Panel Mounted D38999 Fiber Optic Transceivers Improve Communications Link Performance and Reliability While Reducing Space and Weight Requirements
Kingsport, TN, September 12, 2011-- Protokraft today announced the availability of its MATRIX series octal port (16xfiber) optical transceivers with D38999 fiber optic external connector interfaces to improve the performance and reliability of high speed communication links in harsh environment applications. The MATRIX series octal port (16xFiber) optical transceivers are available with 16xoptical transmitters, 16xoptical receivers or 8xtransmitters + 8xreceivers. The external interface of the MATRIX series octal port (16xfiber) optical transceivers is a D38999/23-21 fiber optic connector with up to 16xM29504/4 multimode or single mode fiber optic ports. The internal electrical interface of the MATRIX series octal port optical transceiver is a ribbon coax cable to *Samtec® SMT connector assembly enabling interconnection to a motherboard, daughter card or backplane. Power to the unit (3.3VDC) is supplied through the Samtec connectors.
Protokraft introduced the MATRIX series octal port (16xfiber) optical transceivers with D38999 fiber optic connector interfaces for military, aerospace, petrochemical, mining, industrial or utility applications where significant levels of shock, vibration and extreme temperature ranges are experienced. These components are designed for use in platforms where small size, weight reduction and resistance to dirt, dust and other contaminants are highly valued.
MATRIX series octal port, panel mounted optical transceivers enable high speed communications in harsh environments.
- Civil and military vehicle networking
- sFPDP, sRIO, 1x/2x/4xFC, GbE, PCI-e and many other applications
- Data communication links up to 80Gbps in one connector
The MIL-DTL-38999 Series III shell provides a sealed interface that is water-tight to MIL-STD-810 when mated. MATRIX series octal port (16xfiber) optoelectronic transceivers are vibration isolated, environmentally hardened components designed for use in harsh environment applications.
- Panel mounted D38999 interface sealed against liquid and solid contaminants
- Shock and vibration resistant
