Kingsport, TN, January 9, 2012 -- Protokraft today announced the availability of the Magnum - 801 Series of Size 8 Quadrax Cavity Insert optical transmitter and receiver solutions that simplify avionics equipment designs and improve network performance and reliability in harsh environment applications. Protokraft Magnum - 801 Series Size 8 Cavity Insert Optoelectronic Transmitter and Receivers offer a complete optical component solution for avionics optical networks and advanced cockpit displays.
Protokraft has introduced the Magnum - 801 Series of Size 8 Quadrax Cavity Insert optical transmitters and receivers with ARINC 801 compliant optical interfaces, designed for military, aerospace, industrial or utility applications where significant levels of shock, vibration and extreme temperature ranges are experienced. These components integrate the functions of optical transmitters or receivers into the form factor of standard Size 8 Quadrax cavity inserts. The Protokraft Magnum - 801 size 8 Optoelectronic cavity Insert can be installed into standard avionics rectangular connectors such as the Arinc 600/ 404 / EN4165 series and they interface with standard ARINC 801 optical contacts mounted in size 8 cavities through Quadrax cavity adaptors. This solution is ideal for use in avionic network and display systems where small size, reduced weight and resistance to harsh environments are required.





Kingsport, TN, September 12, 2011-- Protokraft today announced the availability of its MATRIX series octal port (16xfiber) optical transceivers with D38999 fiber optic external connector interfaces to improve the performance and reliability of high speed communication links in harsh environment applications. The MATRIX series octal port (16xFiber) optical transceivers are available with 16xoptical transmitters, 16xoptical receivers or 8xtransmitters + 8xreceivers. The external interface of the MATRIX series octal port (16xfiber) optical transceivers is a D38999/23-21 fiber optic connector with up to 16xM29504/4 multimode or single mode fiber optic ports. The internal electrical interface of the MATRIX series octal port optical transceiver is a ribbon coax cable to *Samtec® SMT connector assembly enabling interconnection to a motherboard, daughter card or backplane. Power to the unit (3.3VDC) is supplied through the Samtec connectors.

Protokraft WILDCAT series unmanaged Ethernet switches consist of 4x1000Base-SX or 100Base-FX ports integrated into a panel mounted MIL-DTL-38999 connector assembly. The WILDCAT series unmanaged Ethernet switch consists of two Ethernet interfaces for internal and external connections. The external interface of the WILDCAT series Ethernet switches is a D38999/23-21 fiber optic connector with 4x 1000Base-SX or 100Base-FX compliant fiber optic Ethernet ports. The internal 10/100/1000Base-T interface of the WILDCAT series Ethernet switch is a ribbon coax cable to *Samtec® SMT connector assembly enabling interconnection to a motherboard, daughter card or backplane. Power to the unit is supplied through the Samtec connector.

Protokraft Hornet series 10/100/1000Base-T unmanaged Ethernet switches consist of 5x10/100/1000Base-T ports with auto negotiation and auto MDI / MDIx functions integrated into a bulkhead mounted MIL-DTL-38999 connector assembly. The Hornet series unmanaged Ethernet switch consists of two Ethernet interfaces for internal and external connections. The external interface of the Hornet series Ethernet switches is a D38999/19-35 connector with 4x IEEE-802.3U:2005 10/100/1000Base-T compliant Ethernet ports. The internal 10/100/1000Base-T interface of the Hornet series Ethernet switch is a ribbon coax cable to *Samtec® SMT connector assembly enabling interconnection to a motherboard, daughter card or backplane. Power to the unit is supplied through the Samtec connector.
